This past Sunday singer Fantasia performed at a charity show and announced what many had already speculated that she was pregnant. Although she did not say who the father was, many assumed that it was her ex-boyfriend Antwaun Cook whom she was spotted with in Barbados earlier this month.
Now with the new information of her being pregnant, RadarOnline reports that Antwaun is in fact the father and that he is still married.
“Antwaun told Paula that Fantasia was pregnant early on,” a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com.
“He wanted her to hear it from him before word got out in the press. Paula was really hurt when he left her for Fantasia, so it’s like the knife that was already in her back is being twisted now.”
RadarOnline.com has learned that Antwaun and Paula are set to meet in a North Carolina courthouse on Wednesday, August 10 to try and sort out their accurate date of separation. Antwaun maintains the two were already separated when he started dating Fantasia, while Paula insists he cheated on her.
Fantasia began dating Antwaun in 2009 when he was separated from his wife Paula Cook, but Paula insisted that her and Antwaun did not separate until June 2010. In mid 2010, Paula sued Fantasia under North Carolina's 'Alientation of Affection' law which states that you can sue the party who is responsible for your marriage's failure.
In August 2010, Fantasia attempted suicide due to all that was going on with her relationship. After the attempt she resumed filming of her VH1 reality show Fantasia For Real where it documents her breaking all ties with Antwaun. She later testified in late November 2010 at Antwauns divorce hearing that she had aborted her and Antwaun's child around the time of the suicide attempt. In the hearing the judge came to conclusion that Antwaun was in fact separated when he began his relationship with Fantasia which lead to Paula filing a complaint in January 2011 stating that the judge was bias in her case against Fantasia and her husband.
