Well people the results are in. According to Hits Daily Double Beyonce's latest album 4, which was released on June 28th, has sold 313,000 copies in it's first week. The projected sales were 300k, which is fairly low given that her 2008 release I Am....Sasha Fierce sold around 450,000 it's first week.
Many people were worried that Beyonce's album would flop due to the album's lead single "Run The World" not doing well on the charts, and also due to lack of promotion. Her 313K put her first week sales less than other major artists who've released albums in the last 8 months such as Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy , Nicki Minaj's debut album Pink Friday, and Drake's debut album Thank Me Later. I find that quite interesting.
Rapper Big Sean is Kanye West's protege and is signed to Kanye's G.O.O.D music. His debut album Finally Famous: The Album, was projected to sell 90,000. The album was also released on the 28th, debuted at #3 on the billboard charts with 84k. Not a bad debut for an artist who is still unknown by many.
